Almansa returns to the 18th century this weekend to commemorate the 319th anniversary of its Battle, demanding the declaration of its milestones as elements of heritage interest.

Historical reenactments with more than 300 participants from all over Europe, baroque markets, military encampments and workshops for making ammunition, leaded glass or court dresses, will occupy the center of the town from April 24 to 26, 2026, to remember the conflict of 1707, which took place as a result of the fracture between the Crown of Castile and that of Aragon and which turned the situation of the War of the Spanish Succession around, making the archduke lose not only the kingdom of Valencia, but probably the war and the crown of Spain.

“The Battle of Almansa was a historic milestone that changed the course of the monarchy in our country, a date that we will relive throughout a weekend ,” said the First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Tourism of the municipality, Alfredo Calatayud, who highlighted the important economic and social impact of this event for the city.
